I remember as a child, my Mom and I joining Auntie Ann for many Teas on the weekend. I liked listening to her stories, the party sandwiches, deserts and the raffles. I always looked forward to the next time :-) Remembering you with fond memories. I would like to share one of my fondest memories of my ‘Auntie Ann’. I was so very pleased that she always kept in touch with our family (my father John was one of her brothers), considering the distance between us (Ontario/Alberta). It was wonderful of her to attend two of our family reunions, the last being in Salmon Arm just a few years ago (the ‘last’ being understandable as you will see when you read on). I didn’t realize that camping was not her favourite pastime when I invited her to attend the Salmon Arm reunion with me. She may have first imagined staying in a nice big Winnebago or some such thing but no such luck, I had a little old Boler camping trailer and even though very small and cramped, it could sleep two (no indoor plumbing, of course). No problem we decided, we would spend the majority of our time outdoors anyway enjoying the sandy beaches and famous Okanagan sunshine. As it happened, we ended up ‘enduring’ a three day weekend of endless, non-stop, ‘buckets of rainfall’ that resulted in disappearing sandy beaches and drenched tents, lawn chairs and camp fires. The sand disappeared into sand bags to keep back the over flowing banks that flooded the camp ground. Once the weekend ended, we still had to face a fourteen hour drive to ‘home base’. Auntie was a trooper throughout it all and simply made the best of a bad situation. She didn’t really have much choice I suppose being that far from home and besides, we all kept thinking that the torrential rains had to quit ‘anytime now’. Because Auntie Ann always had a great sense of humour, I sincerely believe that she wouldn’t mind me sharing this, one of my favourite memories of her. I am truly going to miss her. May she rest in peace now that she is free of all pain....

Dear Auntie Ann, May God bless you and keep you safe in the arms of Jesus until we meet again. You had so much strength while here on earth and anyone who knows you knows how remarkably strong you are. You raised 3 beautiful children and they love you with all their hearts. We miss you so much already... my mom is so very quiet while watching the Young and the Restless now... anxiously waiting for you to phone and discuss the story line with her. You were twins and although many thought you were very different, those closest to you know that you were very much the same... in your strength and in your unconditional love. You treated me like a daughter... not like a niece and although I never said it, I looked up to you in so many ways. Jerron is my cousin but in reality the sister I never had. You should be so proud of who she has become. We love her with all of our hearts. Taylor has such an amazing gift in her art and just like me, loves her animals. Taylor made me laugh so many times as children... and helped me see that life should not be so serious. Reg... he grew into such a handsome man. He has the amazing gift of knowing how to let life gently take its course and on its own terms. You made us laugh with your adorable stories, even when you weren't in truth necessarily trying to be funny. You just had a special gift of bringing humour into everyday conversation. You are a special lady, Auntie Ann and there is already a huge void that could only be filled by you. My mother is not herself since you left us and very quiet.... remembering the days when life was easier... before the pain... before the illness... before time crept up on us. I will forever remember our Via Rail trip to Winnipeg... Jerron was pregnant with Daryle and Mariko was an adorable toddler. I remember our trip to Dululth and laughing uncontrollably in our hotel room. Rest in peace Auntie Ann... sleep softly and know that you are safe now and always. Jerron and I will make sure that we continue building the steps of our family so that we can all walk in love and never forget the members of our family whose souls encompass each step of the way. Remembering your mom fondly, when I was a young girl my mom Joanne Sonego and your mom would go to teas together, Reg may remember being drag along, and having to sit in hall full of women sipping their teas and eating little sandwiches. Your mom was a sweet lady, I understand want your feeling as my mom passed away in June. Time does heal the pain, you must remember the happy times you spent together, and now she's hooking up with my mom having tea and sandwiches. Sending you all many hugs and prayers doing this sad time.

always remembered by all of us as any family member would be. always remember the laughs and how your mom could always made me smile. ill miss her for sure on magnus night. it was an absolute honor especially the last show. im so happy we had one last chance.im so sorry i cant make it on wednesday, all our prayers and sympathy for you and your family. and standing ovation to a great lady who ill never forget. peace anna banana.
