Obituary for Mr. Tauno Junttola

Mr. Tauno Junttola
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tauno Junttola, age 90 years, on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Roseview Manor.

Tauno was born to Maija and Olli Junttola on November 19, 1927 in Kapuskasing, Ontario. The family soon relocated to Kaministiquia, Ontario where Tauno attended Alppila School. At a young age he became employed in Forestry, first as a bush-worker and then going to Provincial Paper Mill. From there, he would go on to his true calling, Carpentry. Tauno was prolific at this, building over 100 homes in Thunder Bay with his partner, Jerry Shyiak. Tauno took great pride in his work and his family, building their family home in Kaministiquia where he and his loving wife of 53 years, Jane (nee Beaucage) raised their family until her passing in 2011.

Tauno is survived by his son, Wayne (Cindy) Junttola; daughter Barbara (Alfred) King; grandchildren Samantha (Travis) Jaspers, Cody Junttola (Emily Hampton), Brook King and Madison King; great grandchildren, Jack and Nash Jaspers.

Our family would like to thank Roseview Manor, St. Joseph's Hospital and his physical therapist, Kirsten for all of their wonderful care of Dad.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 N. May Street at Cameron in care of arrangements.

If friends so desire donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

We will miss you.
