August 17, 1933 – May 4, 2018

Mr. Dario Mario Levanto, age 84 years, passed away peacefully in Hogarth Riverview Manor on Friday, May 4, 2018 with his family by his side.

Dario was born on August 17, 1933 in Pola, Italy and immigrated to Canada when he was 18 years old. He went to work in the bush before starting his own trucking company. He retired after many years working for Great Lakes Paper. Dario enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping; however his greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.

Dario is survived by his wife of 60 years, Erva; children Davy, Lea and James Levanto; grandchildren Stephenie, Justin and Sadie; siblings Valerie Lazzari (Riccardo), Lina Cox, Grace Arnold (Jeff), Marissa (Rodman Gleeson), Joe (Kathy) and sister-in-law Chris Levanto. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Anna Levanto; brother Frank as well as his brother-in-law Steve Cox.

Funeral Services for the late Mr. Dario Levanto will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 1:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street. Interment will take place at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Dario to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
