Obituary for Mr. Lorenzo "Larry" Bertin

Mr. Lorenzo "Larry" Bertin
BERTIN

Larry (Lorenzo) Bertin passed away on Friday, March 9th, 2018 in his 94th year, after a wonderful life well lived.

Larry was born in Atholville, New Brunswick in 1924 to Elarion and Lea Bertin. After humbly serving in W.W.2, Dad moved to Marathon where he met and married Phyllis (Morgan), his partner for life. Together they raised 6 children. Dad’s kindness and generosity knew no bounds and he so enjoyed the lives of others, especially his family. His indomitable spirit saw him through tragic losses and traumatic personal injuries.

Left to remember him well, his beloved wife of 69 years Phyllis; his children and their spouses whom he loved as his own, Ellen Murphy, Ron and Judy Bertin, Susan and Gary Talarico, Sandra and Bruce Ross and Geoff and Teri Bertin; his 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and they loved him back in spades. He will be missed by his brother Gerry and sister-in-law Yvette, sister Jackie and brother-in-law Garnett; his brothers-in-law Philip and Bob Morgan and his special sister-in-law and brother-in-law JoAnn and Jack McLean. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Dad was predeceased by his parents, his son Rick, grandson Ryan Murphy, son-in-law Tom Murphy, brothers Albert, Hubert, Leon and sisters Irene and Maydora.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lakehead Manor for their kindness and compassion. You cared for Dad like he was one of your own.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. In lieu of flowers or donations, please practice random acts of kindness. It makes the world a better place, which Dad always strived to do.
